KNUT - Bastardiser (Hydrahead)
Rating: HHH

Although recorded in 1998 KNUT's Bastardiser is just as vital today as the day it was recorded. This is my first taste of the band and I already want more. You can definitely hear the old school influence hear but it doesn't overshadow the band, as they seem to maintain a sound that is their own. A sludge driven thrash I haven't heard since Crowbar with a lot more speed and a bit of noise. It's hard to categorize this band, as it seems to take all the best elements of hard music today and meld them together into something very listenable. If you took Celtic Frost, ISIS, Crowbar, Will Haven and Entombed and threw it in a blender, you might get some idea of what KNUT is all about. A new EP is expected out this year, I can't wait.
