The production is a tasteful mix of rugged density. There's a nice warmth to everything, and a good sense of cohesion with just the right amount of clarity and noisiness. That's about all there is to it. No complaints. As expected the layout is great, enclosing the fiery reddish textures of the thick inner booklet with colder blue tones and heavy use of metallic bronze ink throughout. The lyrics are brief fragments of flowing abstract suggestions, which I really enjoy a lot, "devastate the barricades the lightning strikes heaven wrath whirlwind blows away the ruins of our lives fly up to the sky again and again I'm here to stay I'll grab your entrails still calm everything looks still in your eye I'm calling your name and the wind flies it away." Great work overall.
Knut always leaves me looking forward to their next release. On minimal levels they can be compared to many (I'm actually starting to hear more and more of a base Godflesh/Neurosis type of vibe happening on occasion), but there's only one Knut, that's for sure.
